After day 6 Phil Ivey is 3rd in WSOP

Play Online PokerIt's starting to look like this is Phil Ivey's year to shine. The best player in the world is currently in a great position to win his first WSOP Main Event. With just 64 players left Phil Ivey is in third.

Darvin Moon closed out Day 6 with 9,745,000 to take the chip lead, while Billy Kopp finished a strong second with 8,245,000 and the always-dangerous Phil Ivey ended in third chip position with 6,345,000.

Phil Ivey makes it to day four of WSOP

Play Online PokerThe good news is Phil Ivey is still in the 2009 WSOP Main Event, has an above average stack (371,000) and he is only 162 eliminations from making the money. The bad news is that he is over one million chips behind the leader. Ivey has been updating his twitter page semi-regularly with WSOP updates. He will most definitely be looking to double up on someone today.

Finally the Main Event has arrived, Phil Ivey survives day 1d

The World Series of Poker is underway and it looks like there are an insane amount of players again this year. Phil Ivey finally made his debut on day 1d surviving through the day. He doesn't have a huge stack, but it's far too early for that to matter. At this point it's all about survival. We'll do our best to monitor Phil's progress as he takes his shot at his first Main Event title.
