Phil Ivey out of $10k Seven Card Stud event

Another event Phil Ivey was playing in his quest to get another bracelet was the $10,000 Championship Seven Card Stud event. I honestly don't know how he has the time to play all of these events, but it would appear he will have more time now that he is knocked out of this one.

Phil Ivey was one early elimination, moving all in on third street with the {4-Clubs} in the door. Soheil Shamseddin called with the {K-Diamonds} up, and picked up a six on fifth street to go with the two other sixes he had in the hole. Shamseddin’s trips were enough to best Ivey’s two pair and send him home early on Day 2.

If you remember Ivey won one of this five bracelets in 2002 at the $1500 Seven Card Stud event.

Phil Ivey dominates… charity?

Tiger Woods held his annual charity event "TigerJam" and had quite the turnout with everyone  from P. Diddy and No Doubt to Adrianne Peterson and Dwayne Wade. The charity auction was spirited and who else but Phil Ivey would want to dominate it.

But it was poker pro Phil Ivey who played the winning hand, helping the live and silent auctions go over the $1 million mark with his bids that wound up totaling nearly $200,000! Among Phil’s winning bids, he paid $27,500 to see the NCAA Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis next April and $50,000 for a private lesson with Tiger and the right to play in the Chevron World Challenge PGA Tour in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Incidentally, the president of Chevron threw in a three-year supply of gas for the winning bid! Phil also paid $70,000 for red carpet treatment at the 2010 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Jan. 29.

Suddenly betting on Phil Ivey in golf doesn't seem like such a crazy idea.

Where are they now? Phil Ivey is right here

Pokerworks recently did a piece on Phil Ivey as part of their Where Are They Now? series. It's a good read with a solid rundown of Phil Ivey's career. However, since when did Phil Ivey go anywhere? He's at Full Tilt every day!

A great Phil Ivey story

We love Phil Ivey, did you know that? Well, it turns out we're not the only ones. The members of the 2+2 forums also are and started a thread about it. Within in the thread, I found this great Phil Ivey story and couldn't help but share it.

I'm probably getting these stories confused cuz one was Mastr in LA and one was JC Alvarado, don't know where so forgive for mixing details. Anyone one of them was at some aggro talkative table. Ivey walks up and everyone just stops talking and looks scared. For the rest of the day, everyone is just staring at Ivey, watching him. He really has an aura, like everyone just watches everything he does and immediately looks away if they come close to making eye contact.

He just plays every hand and tramples people, in between hands he slouches in his chair and texts away, occasionally throwing chips into the pot while texting. Cuz who the **** is gonna break out the rule book on him anyway?

At some point this big black dudes walks up to him and hes carrying a buncha bags and he gives them to Ivey and leaves. Ivey pulls a belt out of one and just puts it on. Keep in mind literally every person at the table is staring at him all the time, and most of the people who aren't in a hand in a close proximity.

He takes his watch off, this $80k watch, opens the bag, and pulls out some lotion. And he puts lotion on his wrist where he was wearing the watch. Slowly applying it while everyone watches transfixed. Then he puts the watch back on, goes back into a bag, and grabs a thing of gummy bears and starts putting them in his mouth. Then he turns his head and looks my friend right in the eye, as though just noticing that everyone in the room is staring at him and never even considering that he was doing an abnormal thing. And he pulls a gummy bear out, holds it up to him, and goes "ya want one?"

Check out the thread because there are a lot of other great stories in there.
