I was reading a blog post by Daniel Negreanu and noticed he was openly rooting against Phil Ivey. I know these two players are long time players, but it seemed a little strange to me that he was rooting against him.
After I was eliminated from the HORSE in 14th place I sweated the progress of Phil Ivey online and dodged a bullet when he didn’t win it either. That saved me a cool $200k.
Now before spamming his site and send him a dirty email I decided to do a little research. As it turns out the two of them have an ongoing bet on bracelets. For every bracelet that Phil Ivey wins, Daniel Negreanu pays him $200,000 and vice versa. With career bracelets sitting at four for Negreanu and five for Ivey it would seem like a good bet, but I wouldn't want to go against Phil Ivey in anything.
