Phil Ivey dominates… charity?

Tiger Woods held his annual charity event "TigerJam" and had quite the turnout with everyone  from P. Diddy and No Doubt to Adrianne Peterson and Dwayne Wade. The charity auction was spirited and who else but Phil Ivey would want to dominate it.

But it was poker pro Phil Ivey who played the winning hand, helping the live and silent auctions go over the $1 million mark with his bids that wound up totaling nearly $200,000! Among Phil’s winning bids, he paid $27,500 to see the NCAA Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis next April and $50,000 for a private lesson with Tiger and the right to play in the Chevron World Challenge PGA Tour in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Incidentally, the president of Chevron threw in a three-year supply of gas for the winning bid! Phil also paid $70,000 for red carpet treatment at the 2010 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Jan. 29.

Suddenly betting on Phil Ivey in golf doesn't seem like such a crazy idea.

Florida Panthers RW wants to play with Phil Ivey

In an interview with PA Sportsticker, Florida Panthers RW Nathan Horton said he'd like to play golf with Phil Ivey.

3) While playing a round of golf, which trio of famous people would you enjoy being with?

I hate golf. I don't like to play golf. I would play with Phil Ivey, Wayne Gretzky and Tiger Woods. I've played a couple of times, but it's too hot to play golf.

Clearly, Tiger Woods would win that one, but the real question is: how much would Phil bet the other two? Gretzky's worth quite a few million. It could get interesting out there.
