LarsLuzak returns to Full Tilt, plays Phil Ivey

Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro returned to Full Tilt Poker this week. A popular high stakes online player he has been largely missing from the scene in 2008 after he busted his Full Tilt account and wasn't finding enough quality high stakes game. A lot has changed since then as Full Tilt's RailHeaven has become one of the best plays for pros to get their high stakes action in (and for amateurs to watch it). Right away he sat in with Phil Ivey.

One was when LarsLuzak raised $3k after the whole cards were dealt and Ivey called. After the flop of [Jh 3s Jc] LarsLuzak bet $4k and was was raised by Ivey for an additional $12k which then LarsLuzak re-raised again to $29,600…Phil Ivey then re-re-raised to $47,200 which at this point LarsLuzak folded his cards and Phil Ivey took down the pot worth $65, 199.50.

LarsLuzak went on to take a pot from Ivey before getting into some HUGE pots with David Benyamine. Welcome back LarsLuzak, Phil could always use some more opponents.

Ivey loses big despite dominating hand

Sometimes the poker gods work against us, even if your name is Phil Ivey.

Over on Full Tilt Poker table Canfield, “BeepBeepImaJeep” took his shot against high stakes gambler Phil Ivey in some $200/$400 No-Limit Hold’em action. On just the four hand of play, “BeepBeepImaJeep” managed to get his $40K stack into the middle with A 9 againt Ivey’ ominating A K. Sure enough, the suckout came and “BeepBeepImaJeep” was quickly up over $38K. He would finish Ivey off a few hands later and earned himself a quick $40K victory in just 13 hands.

Phil Ivey doing good, not as good as Ziigmund

It's early in the month, but Phil Ivey is sitting at 5th in total winnings at Full Tilt Poker for October.

Phil Ivey rounds out the top five with a total profit of $207k in October. Ivey has made more money than anyone else on Full Tilt Poker since the beginning of the year, having racked up over $4.6 million dollars in profits over 68,114 tracked hands. This means that Ivey has averaged over $67 in profit for every hand that he has played on the site in 2008.

Wowzers. Phil Ivey has played with Ziigmund a lot and hasn't fared well. Ziigmund became the first player ever to have a stack over $1 million at RailHeaven while sitting with Ivey and Patrick Antonius.
