After Day 1B, Phil Ivey is out of the European Poker Tour, London Main Event. There seems to be a pattern developing with Phil Ivey where he either amasses a large chip count early or is eliminated early in tournaments. Which really isn't surprising considering his style of play.
Day 1b of the PokerStars.net European Poker Tour London Main Event kicked off with a field full of EPT champions, WSOP champions, online superstars and one Olympic gold medalist. A field of 309 players started the day at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino, with some big names like Jean-Robert Bellande and David Williams relegated to alternate status as the field swelled past organizers' expectations.
It's a weird world we live in where Boris Becker and Phil Ivey play in the same tournament.
